One of my favourite things about a summer packed with weddings is the variety of unique decor and personal touches people incorporate into their big day. Another is our big prairie skies, whether gifting us vibrant sunset colours to make the perfect backdrop, or dramatic, dark blue storm clouds on a hot summer's day. Meghan and Stephen's wedding at Hawthorn Estates was a day where love, beauty, and a pretty unique (and absolutely breathtaking!) colour scheme intertwined to create a day of pure magic!
From the moment we arrived at the venue, our curiosity was piqued by a gentleman donning an avocado-coloured suit. Little did we know that this unexpected attire would serve as the foundation for one of the most captivating colour schemes I have ever witnessed. The wedding party, resplendent in shades of sage green, grey, and purple, emanated an aura of whimsy, elegance and uniqueness that perfectly complemented the surroundings.
The fusion of colour was mesmerizing. Sage green evoked a sense of tranquility, while the dark grey added depth and an element of timelessness to the palette. Hues of cornflower blue and lavender were reminiscent of both an English country garden as well as fantastical worlds of myth and magic. One element stood out with particular brilliance: Meghan's amazing hair! Adorned in shades of purple and blue, it was a masterpiece of artistry, matching flawlessly with the stunning floral arrangements that adorned the venue. With every step she took, Meghan exuded confidence and joy, her infectious smile captivating everyone present.
Imagine witnessing this exceptional colour palette unfold against the canvas of stormy summer prairie skies. Nature seemed to be in perfect harmony with Meghan and Stephen's vision for their special day. As dark clouds danced overhead, the vibrant hues of green and purple took on an even more stunning presence.. It was as if the elements themselves were celebrating Meghan and Stephen's union, which moved me to tears at points - Stephen radiated with such pride from the moment he arrived, expressing his absolute adoration as he watched us taking some portraits of his bride.
Beyond the visual treat, it was the connection between Meghan and Stephen that truly stole the show. Every stolen glance, every gentle touch spoke volumes about their deep appreciation of and unwavering commitment to one another. From the heartfelt vows exchanged under the stormy sky to the lively dance floor where laughter filled the air, their love story was an absolute joy to document.
