Oh, what a joyous occasion it was on that warm June day in La Broquerie! The Rustic Wedding Barn stood proudly, housing a thousand secrets of countless love stories etched within its walls. And amidst this rustic charm, Andrea and Eric, two souls intertwined by fate, finally exchanged their vows.

Let me take you back in time to the days when the world was still shrouded in uncertainty. It was before the pandemic when Andrea and Eric had originally booked their wedding date. Little did they know that the fickle finger of fate would lead them on a merry dance, postponing their day countless times due to governmental restrictions surrounding COVID-19 and gatherings. Yet through it all, their spirits remained unyielding, and their love radiated brighter than ever.

In the midst of these trials, a beautiful friendship blossomed. I recall Andrea's kind offer to lend her healing hands in physiotherapy after my dad (whom she'd never met) suffered a medical incident, and Eric, with his contractor's prowess, replacing my kitchen floor. Their acts of kindness forged bonds that surpassed the boundaries of a typical client-photographer relationship, and I was so grateful to have met such lovely souls.

Before their long-awaited day arrived, we embarked on a bit of a photographic journey together. We captured their love in a fun fall engagement session, then took some "save the new date" photos, and also had a breathtaking pre-wedding session at sunset downtown. The last session included their very first look at each other in their wedding gear, and it was SUCH a beautiful moment. I loved that it was during golden hour, too, when the light is soft and even and glowing.

This wedding was also one of the more unique ones in my history books... I was also bestowed with the honour of singing for Andrea as she walked down the aisle. It was pretty funny standing at the front of the aisle next to the wedding party with cameras strapped to me and a microphone in one hand, alongside the musical talents of Karen Barg and her Luminous String Quartet, and my dear friend Jen lending her voice in harmony.

The ceremony itself was a tapestry of profound emotions and genuine, heartfelt love, friendship, and adoration. The love between Andrea and Eric was palpable, igniting the hearts of everyone present. After heartfelt vows and promises sealed with a kiss, the celebration continued beneath the rafters of the grand old barn.

After an excellent meal and some great speeches (I have to note the great idea they had for table numbers/seating - they had photo frames on each table with collages of everyone that was sitting at them! - the dance floor beckoned, and the rest of the night was spent celebrating with an energetic dance party as the sun set outside.

Andrea and Eric's was a journey of resilience, friendship, and unwavering love. Theirs is a story that reminds us that even amidst the trials of life, love can always prevail.
