Mandy and Lloyd’s wedding was one I’d been looking forward to for ages! I’ve shot in the Greenwood Ballroom at the Best Western Winnipeg Airport a number of times, but I have never seen it decked out like this. Black and white drapery created an intimate feel with ornate chandeliers hanging down. The red and black theme was a perfect palette for their gothic wedding. It looked like something out of a movie!
They began the day getting ready separately, Lloyd with his groomsmen (and cats) and Mandy and the bridesmaids (and pup), before meeting for an emotional first look before photos began, firstly at the Manitoba Legislative Building, followed by the Millennium Centre, where the bride and groom crawled into an actual old bank vault!
All the little details they incorporated were incredible. Mandy hand made bat wine glass place settings, customized little “until death do us part” tags welcomes the guests to dinner, and they even brought smoke bombs to end the night. Lloyd’s brother kept everyone laughing the entire day, until it was time for his speech, where he was suddenly overcome with emotion and had everyone in tears.
Even with the arctic winter temperatures that night, Mandy and Lloyd braved the cold for some amazing photos and had an absolute blast doing it. Definitely one to remember – congratulations to these two on an epic day!
