I met Rachel through a vendor I’ve been lucky enough to work with the past two years – she has been friends with Jan Berry (of the incredible Janice Berry Florals) for almost twenty years, and Jan just so happened to be doing all her floral arrangements as well as officiating the wedding! Rachel and Brian, their five children and their dog Monroe celebrated the day on the grounds of the Bourkevale Community Centre, near Bruce Park in Winnipeg on a gorgeous summer day. I knew as soon as I met Rachel in person we were going to be friends, and by the end of the night we were taking selfies together with our tattoos. A few weeks after her photos were delivered, I received a surprise package in the mail. In addition to being a gorgeous bride, Rachel runs her own sewing business and makes all sorts of amazing custom pieces for kids – and what should arrive on my doorstep… but a handmade Doctor Who cardigan for my baby girl! <3
From the vintage, flower-covered doors to the epic smoke bomb to end the night, this day was fantastic, and I appreciate being chosen to capture it so very much.
