This wedding has to have been one of the adventures of the year! After a seven hour drive, I arrived the night before the wedding in The Pas, Manitoba. It wasn’t as lonely as I thought it would be – although at least half the drive had absolutely zero reception, so I was awfully thankful I’d loaded up on music and a few episodes of my favourite radio show for the journey! The forecast was suddenly looking very chilly, though – and though the day itself brought chill and rain (after a series of +35 degree weddings in previous weeks!), it also brought epic skies, scenery, and a $586 speeding ticket for poor Rammy – with the bride and groom in the back of the car on the way to get some stunning shots at Clearwater Lake. (Worth it? Let’s maybe check back this time next year. Sorry Rammy!!)

The couple were married at the Kikiwak Inn – I had no idea what to expect, but when I walked in to the venue to see a ceiling covered in lanterns, I knew it was going to be something special. Cherilyn and Bryton’s exit song also came from my absolute favourite film of last year (The Greatest Showman), which I was definitely singing all day. The morning was tonnes of fun – cats (cats!), love notes, and a really special moment with mother and daughter in front of their own wedding dresses. After the ceremony (and speeding ticket) we hiked up to The Caves – Cherilyn’s gorgeous dress was already getting affected by the weather, so there was no way I was going to let her squeeze between cave walls, but we got some beautiful shots in the forest and overlooking the lake, which still did a pretty fantastic job of being turquoise despite the overcast skies.

Definitely an adventure, and wishing nothing but happiness for this fun couple! 🙂
