I was so thrilled when Scott and Larissa reached out to me to photograph their wedding! I knew they were engaged as I’ve known Scott for years – a local photographer/videographer who shot little old me back in the day before I even thought about picking up a camera! It’s always interesting when you get to shoot another photographer’s wedding, as we all have such different styles, but I knew this was going to be fun from the get go. Their colour was green (SO underrated!), and we were fortunate enough to get literally every type of weather on the wedding day (well, except for snow), which made for some amazing variety and quite the challenge, which I love! Larissa even let me take her amazing home-dyed dress out under the stormiest of skies for some epic shots right before a thunderstorm, which cleared away to brilliant clear blue skies moments before the ceremony.

As much diversity as this day provided in terms of weather, it also brought about all the feelings – from laughing out loud at Larissa’s first look surprise (flash!) to bawling my eyes out as Scott surprised her with having converted all her home VHS tapes of her as a little girl with her dad, who’d passed away years ago, playing them at the reception – there’s nothing I love more than the honour of witnessing such deep, genuine human emotion, and I feel so lucky to have been part of such a special moment. We snuck away at sunset for some photos over the river, and an epic green smoke bomb to end the night!

Thank you so much to this incredible couple for having me capture this amazing day! <3
